Dear citizens of the earth,
I believe that getting to know a new place with the help of a local person is a great experience. And who could be better fit to give this kind of help than somebody who's forefathers have been living there for centuries or even thousands of years? Everyone can learn a lot from indigenous people who have developed sustainable ways of making a living from their environment.
This is one reason why I would be happy to see a big number of indigenous people in this network. We bring the most open and interested travellers together with those local people who are interested in showing the best of their places and widening their own horizon at the same time.
The other reason why I believe that the Hospitality Club is a great opportunity, especially for indigenous communities: this emerging network is spanning around the whole globe, through all cultures, religions, nations. It is simply based on friendships. I believe that a strong presence of indigenous people in this network can have a huge influence on the ways millions of people think about indigenous cultures. The most open-minded people will quickly make many new friends among indigenous people and serve as role models and resources for others to discover that there is so much to learn!
I welcome all of you to the world wide web of friendly people and I hope that this forum can serve to strengthen us on our way to a more just and sustainable world! (I am a normal German student from mainstream culture, but I have many indigenous friends in Asia, Europe and America and have spent some time living with some of them.)
