The Hospitality Club is similar to the YFU program "sleep-in" or "stayover" that has been available to YFU volunteers for many years. While those programs are open only to people with YFU background, the Hospitality Club is open to anyone. Created by returnees from an exchange organisation very similar to YFU (
AFS ) and definitiely with the same basic idea - fostering
peace through intercultural friendships and understanding - the Hospitality Club is a great complement to existing YFU stay over programs.
Also, one can hope that in the long run, HC will get a lot of people interested in the idea of hosting a person from another culture. And if it is fun for a few days - why not take in an exchange student for one year?
You can search for YFU people in the club and contact them only. Upon registering for the club, please make sure that you list YFU or Youth For Understanding as an organisation you are a member (or a returnee) of. But of course we hope that you will help us to spread the YFU spirit through the world!
There are already some YFU people who are members of the Hospitality Club, and we invite you to come onboard as well -
signing up takes just a couple of minutes. Also, please tell all your YFU friends about the Hospitality Club and please put a link to
http://yfu.hospitalityclub.org on your YFU page, homepage, newsletter etc.
Looking forward to seeing you onboard!
